Have you ever felt overwhelmed? It's a hard place to be, a place where you feel as though life is rushing by you and you can't do anything to stop it. It is a place of helplessness, where brute strength is simply not enough. It is eay during this time of year to get overwhelmed with everything that is going on, Christmas parties, family, and just life in general. I feel overwhelmed today. A new baby that will be joining our family any day, a job that I love that has so much to get done right now with budgets and plans for next year and finishing this year strong, trying to make sure that things are in order and in place. I am simply overwhelmed. It is at these times that I have to step back and remember what or who should truly overwhelm me.
Psalm 65:3 says this, "When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions." Sin overwhelms us, but the God of this universe is even more overwhelming and He came in and cleansed us and made us new and OVERWHELMED us!!
I love this, Mark 9:15 says, "As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him."
Are you overwhelmed this Christmas season? Does there seem to be too many things to get done and not enough time to do it all? My prayer for you today is that you will be overwhelmed by The ONE who's birth we celebrate during this time. Be overwhelmed by His wonder! Let His Grace and His Mercy flood over you. Stop and realize that it is His Overwhelming Love that came to a manger and hung on a cross for you.
BE OVERWHELMED!
